Hurry up and wait! We are sitting in the D.C. Airport, typing on the iPad... Our only source of Internet. Won't type in the body. More to come. Mada!

  1. It will let us type a comment but wouldn't allow us to type in the body of the message! Very bizarre. Anyways, as we were "leaving on a jet plane" it was obvious that Kansas did not want us to leave because our plane was delayed nearly an hour due to thunderstorms. We finally lifted off, but were in no hurry to get to D.C. For our 9 hour layover! Tonya might take another stance on that comment because she was anxiously awaiting the numerous family members greeting her at the airport. Tonya took off with her family and the rest of us decided to take off on our own adventure. We found our way to the information station and agreed we all wanted to see the white house... Little did we know our dreams of spotting Obama himself would soon be crushed due to the 5A busses "mechanical difficulties". Contemplating our layover time we have coming back to the states we realised, then too, we will have 8 hours to endure the political playground they call Washington D.C. This lead us to finding an airport starbucks for the 3rd time along with some snacks. Currently we are patiently waiting for the Ethiopian Airline ticket counter to open to check in. From there our plan is to grab dinner before manuvering our way through customs, that of which no one is looking forward to. All and all the people watching view from the international ticket counter area is all but dull. Watching the petite Aribic children frolic among their mounds of luggage and drapery is quite entertaining!

Be thinking of us as nestle in for the evening, we will be high over the Atlantic ocean on our way to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

    Until next time,
    JambO!

  2. Hope you had a safe flight to Ethiopia! I tried to track your progress but that wasn't easy! Talking to the lady at Ethiopian airlines was even more difficult! Anxiously awaiting confirmation that you have arrived!!
