Simbas, and twigas, and tembos, OH MY!

Can you believe we have wireless access in the middle of safari land?!?!? I am so thankful I finally got to Skype my mom and see my baby Zurich!

We made it to our beautiful tarangire lodge just in time for a nice, hot, Mexican lunch! After we fed our faces we headed out for our first safari game adventure! Valerie was overwhelmed at all the new sites and sounds while the rest of us took in the familiar images. It was so great to be greeted by packs of zebras and wildebeests again. Hundreds of pictures were taken during our 4 hours of game watching before heading back to the lodge for a good Serengeti beer and dinner. We were all exhausted and many had not been feeling well throughout the day so we decided to call it an early night, especially since the power is turned off at 10pm.

Valerie had had enough of the rocky driving so she and Marilyn decided to stay at the lodge and watch for animals on the patio, while Amber, Ephraem and I took off in search of lions.... Which we only caught glimpses of last year. The morning was peaceful and not many animals were seen or heard from. Only the sun started to come out though, the baron land came alive. We managed go spot two pumbas mating and a couple of female lions hunting zebra as prey. Our morning went by quickly so we had to head back to the lodge to share our pictures and wish Valerie safe travels back to the U.S. None of us were ready to say goodbye but we were glad she was feeling better for the long days of travel that lay ahead.

After taking her to the gate, Marilyn, Amber, and I enjoyed a traditional Africa lunch while watching e zebras and ostriches over the veranda. It was then relaxation time for us all. Amber laid down for a nap in her tent, Marilyn checked email and then laid down, I sat by the pool and wrote postcards and am one updating you on our safari expeditions :) we are headed back out with Efraem around 4 in hopes that we see some more news sites.... Crossing our fingers that lions and cheetas are in our futures! You just never know on the tarangire!

Wish us luck! Missing you all, see you soon! If we don't get connection at lake Manyara, Happy 4th of July!!!

Badai! (later)
