Just another "dusty" Monday :)

Well we have safely made it back to Arusha, Safari Capital of the World! It was sort of weird not being the only "white people" in town!

We overnighted in Singine, which was a little farther than we were originally thinking we were going to be. That meant less bumpy back road driving today :) We enjoyed a hot shower, some chips myai, and a good nights rest before heading out early this morning for Arusha.

Breakfast was a bit "shady" at the "hotel/guest house" we stayed out. Bread and under-cooked hard boiled eggs wasn't going to cut it for the long drive. Efraem managed to find us a nice little out door spot in a town a few hours into our drive. We considered ourselves one of the "locals" as we sat amongst the townies for rice and BBQed meat. Off we went, for the rest of the 8 hour drive to Arusha.

We made it to town just in time for rush hour. It was probably the last thing Efraem wanted to do, sit in traffic after driving since 7:30 am this morning. We made a pit stop at "shop rite" for some biscuits and snacky items. After all, we have yet another day of driving tomorrow for our annual trek to the Usumbara Mountains for two weeks of teaching.

Marilyn and I thought it only fitting to get a pedicure and manicure to end our "vacation" before our "vocation" starts. The hotel Impala has a wonderful new "spa" that we couldn't resist not trying out. Winnie (Efraem's wife) made us appointments, so after stopping in town for bites and money exchange we got to relax at the "Lotus Spa". It was magnificent and now we are sitting down to enjoy some dinner before cleaning up for tomorrow.

We look forward to sharing our teaching adventures in the coming days. We will begin teaching at SECOMU, on June 5th. We will have a 12 day class throughout the next several weeks, half of which we will be joined by our teaching companions for on June 13th. Check back for more details and stories regarding our travels.

Best wishes to those packing at home :) We can't wait to be joined by our KSU comrades and our family in late June. We are so lucky and blessed to have had such a great time already.

Until next time, Kwaheri!
